Who Can Submit?
Anyone may submit an original article to be considered for publication in Palestinian Medical and Pharmaceutical Journal provided he or she owns the copyright to the work being submitted or is authorized by the copyright owner or owners to submit the article. Authors are the initial owners of the copyrights to their works (an exception in the non-academic world to this might exist if the authors have, as a condition of employment, agreed to transfer copyright to their employer).
General Submission Rules
Submitted articles cannot have been previously published, nor be forthcoming in an archival journal or book (print or electronic). Please note: "publication" in a working-paper series does not constitute prior publication. In addition, by submitting material to Palestinian Medical and Pharmaceutical Journal, the author is stipulating that the material is not currently under review at another journal (electronic or print) and that he or she will not submit the material to another journal (electronic or print) until the completion of the editorial decision process at Palestinian Medical and Pharmaceutical Journal. Formatting Requirements
Palestinian Medical and Pharmaceutical Journal has no general rules about the formatting of articles upon initial submission. There are, however, rules governing the formatting of the final submission. See Final Manuscript Preparation Guidelines for details. Although bepress can provide limited technical support, it is ultimately the responsibility of the author to produce an electronic version of the article as a high-quality PDF (Adobe's Portable Document Format) file, or a Microsoft Word, WordPerfect or RTF file that can be converted to a PDF file.
It is understood that the current state of technology of Adobe's Portable Document Format (PDF) is such that there are no, and can be no, guarantees that documents in PDF will work perfectly with all possible hardware and software configurations that readers may have.
Rights for Authors and Palestinian Medical and Pharmaceutical Journal
The Authors retain full copyright to the published Articles. PMPJ doesn't require Copyright transfer, but only nonexclusive License to publish and disseminate it for the First Publication with Open Access policy. All articles published are under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) license. This permits anyone to copy, transmit, and adapt the work with proper credit to the authors. This means that authors retain full copyright for their work, but allow anyone to download, reuse, and modify the work as long as the original authors are given due credit.
Attribution and Usage Policies
All PMPJ publications are published under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) license. This allows everyone to freely reproduce, share, adapt, and use the content for any lawful purpose, as long as they provide full acknowledgment to the authors and PMPJ as the original source. There are no further permissions necessary for reuse under the CC BY 4.0 license.
Licensing Terms
The PMPJ follows an free open-access model, ensuring that all published research is freely available to readers. All articles in PMPJ are published under the Palestinian Medical and Pharmaceutical Journal (Pal. Med. Pharm. J.) © 2024 by An-Najah National University is licensed under CC BY 4.0 This license allows others to share, adapt, and build upon the work for any purpose, including commercially, as long as proper attribution is given to the original authors:
- PMPJ requires authors to publish their work under the CC BY 4.0 license, which permits the widest possible dissemination of research while ensuring proper credit is given to the authors.
- Authors and users must ensure that no additional restrictions are imposed beyond the terms of the CC BY 4.0 license. All users of the content must respect the license terms.
- PMPJ may consider licenses broadly equivalent to CC BY 4.0 for special cases, provided they comply with the principles of open access.

Copyright Terms
The PMPJ supports open access and the principle that authors retain the ownership of their work. Therefore, the following copyright terms apply:
- Authors retain full copyright of their articles. PMPJ does not ask authors to transfer copyright, but only a license to the right of first publication and the non-exclusive rights to circulate and disseminate their work under open access principles.
- All articles published by are under the license of Creative Commons Attribution 4.0, which allows for wide dissemination, reuse, and adaptation with due acknowledgment of authors. It ensures reuse rights are granted considering an open-access model of publishing.
- Authors retain all commercial rights to their work. PMPJ puts no restriction on the authors from reusing, adapting, or distributing it in any form whether commercially or non-commercially.
- PMPJ is completely open access. "All rights reserved" can never apply to open access content and restrictions incompatible with the CC BY 4.0 license are not permitted.
General Terms and Conditions of Use
Users of the Palestinian Medical and Pharmaceutical Journal website and/or software agree not to misuse the Palestinian Medical and Pharmaceutical Journal service or software in any way.
The failure of Palestinian Medical and Pharmaceutical Journal to exercise or enforce any right or provision in the policies or the Submission Agreement does not constitute a waiver of such right or provision. If any term of the Submission Agreement or these policies is found to be invalid, the parties nevertheless agree that the court should endeavor to give effect to the parties' intentions as reflected in the provision, and the other provisions of the Submission Agreement and these policies remain in full force and effect. These policies and the Submission Agreement constitute the entire agreement between Palestinian Medical and Pharmaceutical Journal and the Author(s) regarding submission of the Article.
Allegations of Misconduct
PMPJ takes any form of research misconduct seriously, including but not limited to plagiarism, data fabrication, and citation manipulation. We have established a procedure for investigating and resolving allegations brought to our attention, ensuring fairness and confidentiality throughout the process. In line with the Committee on Publication Ethics guidelines, all cases will be handled promptly and transparently.
Complaints and Appeals
We provide authors and readers with a structured process for submitting complaints related to editorial decisions or the conduct of the journal staff, editorial board, or publisher. Complaints will be addressed impartially, and independent editorial board members will review appeals against editorial decisions to ensure fairness
Post-Publication Discussions
PMPJ encourages open discussions after the publication of articles. Authors and readers are invited to submit their comments or responses either directly to the journal or through established platforms for scholarly debate. This process enhances the critical review and transparency of the published literature.
Corrections and Retractions
The integrity of the scholarly record is of paramount importance. PMPJ has developed clear policies for issuing corrections, retractions, or expressions of concern where errors or issues affecting the validity of a published article are identified. Authors are expected to cooperate in correcting any mistakes that are discovered post-publication.
Repository Policy
The PMPJ encourages authors to deposit multiple versions of their work in institutional or other repositories. The particular policy concerning different versions is explained below:
Submitted Version (Preprint): The submitted version of the manuscript may be deposited in non-commercial or institutional repositories with no embargo.
Accepted Version: The author can immediately place the version of their manuscript in non-commercial or institutional repositories with no embargo.
Published Version (Version of Record): The final published version may be placed in non-commercial or institutional repositories with no embargo.
PMPJ is supported by CLOCKSS and Portico, two of the best preservation archiving services that provide perpetual access and preservation for the Journal’s articles.
